About Me
A wise man once said, "Do what you love and you’ll never work a day in your life". This is the story about how I came to love automating everything.
Corporate Roots & Process Fixes
My background is in marketing within the cash-pay healthcare industry, specifically elective procedures. I worked in a large corporate environment where one of my daily tasks involved manually updating client records from invoices, a tedious and unnecessary process.
Fortunately, we had an in-house engineering team that built both the invoicing and client record software. I began suggesting improvements, often counting mouse clicks to streamline repetitive actions. For example, adding a single “Save” button could eliminate three clicks. A small change that, multiplied across 250 employees and hundreds of daily tasks, saved significant labor hours.
Over time, leadership recognized the value of these optimizations and gave me a direct line to the Director of Engineering. That’s when I realized: small efficiencies can create massive impact.
Surviving the 2008 Crash
When the 2008 market crash hit, layoffs swept through the company. Our department shrank from 25 people to just one, me. Each week, more coworkers were called to HR, and their workloads redistributed. The only way to survive was to automate. I adopted a new mantra: automate everything. Alongside strong customer service, my ability to streamline processes made me indispensable.
From Marketing to Meaning
After a decade with the company, I launched my own marketing firm. I enjoyed helping businesses grow, but something was missing. What truly lit me up was home automation. I’d find myself talking to friends and family about their homes, their routines, and how smart tech could simplify their lives. That passion kept growing, and I followed it.
Doing What I Love
They say, “Do what you love, and you’ll never work a day in your life.” I took that to heart. Today, I run a business that helps people simplify their lives through intuitive, easy-to-use technology.
