Bob & Sally
Every now and then my wife and I would consider home automation, but we always came to the same conclusion, that it was more trouble than it was worth. Then we met Shawn at Eugene Home Automation! Shawn quickly convinced us that the benefits of home automation far outweigh the small learning curve needed to operate it. Based on our home and our particular needs, he explained to us what we should get, where to get it and how to use it. I am a quadriplegic and spend my day in a power wheelchair. Shawn helped me greatly expand my ability to use the accessibility features on my cellphone. I can also use the cellphone as a control center for all the home automation we’ve added. The home automation and security and the expanded use of my cellphone have markedly increased my independence. Shawn was very easy to work with, patiently answering our questions and listening to our concerns. If you have reservations or are looking for someone to help set up your home, give Shawn a call.

I have Parkinson’s, so I don’t move around as well as I used to. My son has always been a techie, taking things apart and fixing them, so I wasn’t surprised when he started setting up my house with gadgets that automate everything.
Shawn made my electric blinds open with the sunrise and close at night automatically. He installed a smart front door lock that I can unlock from anywhere using my phone, which comes in handy when a friend drops something off unexpectedly. He set up my bedroom lights so I can turn them off without leaving the bed, connected the Ring doorbell, and got me an Echo Show so I can see who’s at the front door without leaving my desk. I now have cameras at every entry point, plus one in my shed, and I feel secure knowing I’ll be notified if someone is there. It’s those little things that make my everyday life easier, and I sure appreciate it.
One day, years after Shawn had moved out, he called me from 300 miles away to let me know there was a water leak in my workshop! He had installed a leak detection sensor that did its job and saved me big time.
If you’re looking to automate your house or have questions about it, my Son is the one to talk to.
